{Sew Coordinated} November 2015

I have been dying to share the latest kit for Sew Cooridnated!  I have split this kit into two posts because I am tired of waiting on the rain to stop to photograph the last outfit.

Sew Coordinated is a monthly subscription sewing kit brought to you by Mama Made and Beautiful Fabrics.  It is so fun taking 5 coordinating fabrics each month along with matching notions and finding patterns that will really highlight the gorgeousness (Is this even a word?  I'm going with yes. LOL)  of each item and maximize the yardage.

Sadly, as Breanne announced this morning on Sew Coordinated's Facebook page, Sew Coordinated will be taking a hiatus after this month.  While we patiently await its return, let's focus on the gorgeous fabrics she chose for November!  The jewel tones of Free Spirit Fabric's Music Collection are deep, beautiful and rich -- perfect for these Thanksgiving dresses I made my two daughters.

Kit Contents:

  • 1 yd - Victorian Rose in Teal - Music Collection by April Cornell for Free Spirit Fabric
  • 1 yd - Anglaise  in Green - Music Collection by April Cornell for Free Spirit Fabric
  • 1/2 yd - Meadow Song in Gold - Music Collection by April Cornell for Free Spirit Fabric
  • 1/2 yd - Devon Rose in Chocolate - Music Collection by April Cornell for Free Spirit Fabric
  • 1/2 yd - Primrose in Olive - Music Collection by April Cornell for Free Spirit Fabric
  • 2 wooden buttons by "Crafting with Buttons"
  • 2 yds of Squirrel/Acorn Ribbon
  • 1 spool of Gutermann Thread
  • Project Bag (to store your project while you are still working on it)

As I was planning out this month's kit, the Merry Dress by Little Lizard King was heading into testing {It's releasing this week!}.  This dress features a boat neck, scoop back, various sleeve lengths and a fully pleated skirt.  It is the perfect pattern to showcase the Victorian Rose.  I paired it with a deep red found in my stash and decided a monogram in a matching teal thread would tie it all together.

I used one of the included buttons on the back bodice and used the remaining button as a hair accessory.

This next dress, the Genevieve Dress by Violette Field Threads, pairs Anglaise with Devon and compliments my daughter's brown eyes and brunette locks.  It features a fitted bodice with a flounce overlay, button-down back and a very full, twirly skirt.

I didn't quite have enough of the Anglaise for the under bodice so I colorblocked it for a fun surprise only my daughter and I (and now, all of you...lol) would know about.

Both girls love their Thanksgiving Day dresses!  I'll be back with {Part Two} showcasing the final two fabrics as soon as the rain subsides.  Until then, here are a couple more pics to enjoy!

If you've ever wondered about how Sew Coordinated works, here is some information.   Fingers crossed the hiatus is short and sweet... lol  (but also know that Breanne is a very busy lady that deserves to take a break to focus on her family and other areas of business).
